Homemade BBQ Baked Beans

About the Recipe

This simple and super yummy recipe pairs canned beans with pantry (and fresh) ingredients and turns them into a homemade version of a restaurant favorite. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 (30 oz) can ranch beans

  • 1 (28 oz) can pork or vegetarian beans

  • ½ cup chopped onion

  • 1 red pepper, diced

  • 1 orange pepper, diced

  • ½ cup plus 3 Tbsp T-Bones BBQ Sauce

  • 2 cups light brown sugar

  • 1 Tbsp smoked paprika or smoked seasoning

  • 6 slices thick cut bacon, cooked

  • sea salt and pepper to taste

  • ½ tsp turmeric

  • 1 slice cooked bacon for garnish, this is optional

  • parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 13 x 9" baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.

  2. Drain both cans beans and pour into a large bowl

  3. Toss in the onions and peppers. Gently stir with a large spoon to combine.

  4. In a small bowl, combine T-Bones BBQ Sauce and seasonings.

  5. Add cut bacon into beans. Now, add sauce into bean mixture. Combine gently with large spoon.

  6. Pour bbq bean mixture into prepared baking dish. Spread gently to make an even layer.

  7. Bake in 350°F oven for 75 to 90 minutes until thickened slightly. When done, spoon into individual crocks or serve from the baking dish. Enjoy!
